In December I bought a new bike for my commute. It is a Birdy a folding bike by the Darmstadt based manufacturer riese & müller. It is only 10kg and comes with a basic suspension. Sometimes I fear that I might actually get blown away, when crossing the river. It works very well so far. My commute is 4.8km and it takes me 15:30min, which means my average speed is 18.5km/h. I save 4 quid every day I take the bike, so I will break even this year, even ignoring the 150h I will save.
