Horse Sacrifice Revisited
Two weeks ago I started to commute by bike. The quality of cycle paths in Göteborg is overall much better than what you get in London. But I’ve got one special problem. The Aaby Racingtrack lies on my way to work. Those damn horses use the same underpass as the cyclists and this true shit. I’m much in favour of having another few horse sacrifices! If you are interested you can see the preserved remains of such an ordeal in the ARoS Museum in Aarhus. The mere thought of it gave me some relief after cleaning my bike…
Questionable Semantics
I just stumbled across the concept of ZipFileSet in ant. A closer examination confirmed my suspicion. A ZipFileSet can be two pretty different things. We should stop spoiling young programmers using such outflows from a sick minds that are not capable of a single straight thought. The mainstream of java software (including the JDK) is to the software community what Hegel was to philosophy – poison that prevents all sound thinking.
Opensource Vector Graphics Editor
Alexey pointed me this week to Inkscape a GTK-based vector graphics editor that from first use seems comparable to CorelDraw (at least the historic version I used years ago). It feels much more intuitive than the Gimp.
Excursion Week
Bin gestern wohlbehalten von unserer Exkursion week zurueckgekommen. Ich war mit sieben anderen students und Kristof unserem principal (leider weiss ich nicht wo bei dieser Tastatur die Anfuehrungszeichen sind, sonst wuerde ich sie natuerlich selbstverstaendlich benutzen) in seinem Sommerhaus in Fakse Ladeplads (Ostkueste, Suedseeland). Wir hatten eine Woche lang Sonnenschein und sind die ganze Zeit mit den Fahrraedern durch die gegend gefahren und ich war sogar einmal im Wasser (als einzige), hatte auch schon fast vergessen wie es sich anfuehlt wenn das Wasser so kalt ist das
einem die Luft wegbleibt… Aber dafuer gibt es jetzt ganz viele Fotos von mir.
